As part of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna (BOKU), the Institute of Sanitary Engineering and Water Pollution Control (BOKU-SIG) is one of the major Austrian research and educational organisations in the field of sanitary engineering, industrial water management and water pollution control. The research and expertise areas of BOKU-SIG cover a wide spectrum including water quality monitoring and modelling, water technologies and water management. BOKU-SIG is involved with several projects in Austria and other countries.
Within the CHERPLAN project, BOKU-SIG is responsible for the development of the Environmental Planning Concept (WP4), which will be applied for the elaboration of Environmental Management Plans for CHERPLAN Cultural Heritage sites (WP5). For this purpose, BOKU-SIG cooperates with the following BOKU institutes: Institute of Landscape Development, Recreation and Conservation Planning (BOKU-ILEN), Institute for Transport Studies (BOKU-IVe), Institute of Structural Engineering (BOKU-IKI), Institute of Waste Management (BOKU-ABF) and the Institute of Spatial Planning and Rural Development (BOKU-IRUB).
